Sudden Instability in PSP 9

I'm new here, perhaps in the wrong place! I'm using PSP9 with Windows XP Service pack 2. Problem occurs when I use the text tool. When I move cursor to the workspace, box appears saying that PSP has encountered a problem and is shutting down. So I cannot use the text tool! Has anyone encountered...
