I want to blend two objets but not using the amount of in-between objects but with the fixed-distance option. But to my surprise the mentioned option is greyed-out and can not be choosen !?!

How can i enable this feature ?

Many thanx in advance from Vienna

You can enable this feature if the blend is fitted to a path.

Hi AHmad,

hmm - seems my english is not good enough and/or i am using a german GUI.

I draw e.g. two objects: a rectangle and an ellipse (which is complete inside the rectangle).

Then i change both objetcs into curves, select both and want to blend them  !!

The result should be a set of in-between objects with a maximum distance between them.

How cames a path into the game ?

BTW. in the meantime i found the "Contour"-functionality which has the requiered effect to the selected objects.

But thanks for your answer

Hi Thomas,

You were surprised because the Offset option was grayed-out, and wanted to know how to enable it. So I told you how. I think there's no problem in your English neither in your German GUI ;)

As shown in the attached image; in CorelDRAW, you can fit a blend group to a path. When fitted, you can choose between specifying the number of intermediate objects (Steps) or the distance between their centers (Offset).

Since you know that

  1. Blends can be fitted to a path
  2. Offset option is available for blends fitted to a path
  3. Offset is the distance between centers of the blend objects

, you decide whether using Offset with blends fitted to a path will fill your needs or not.

It's great that you found a tool to do the job.

Just ask if you need more details or have any other inquiries.

Ah - thats the trick.

Thanks for that explanation - now i understand what is meant with the distance option and blends - and thats for sure not the operation i intended it to use for.

hi M,

if you ever need to insert fixed spacing between objects, this macro is also quite handy. No blending needed.
