I can browse and access files extremely fast over our business network in windows explorer however when browseing then selecting a file to open from within coreldrawx4 its painfully slow - and i mean painful. Is there any reason for this or a work around, im just about ready to give up on cx4 - its definatley with cx4 itself other programs have no problems.

Do you have a virus scanner?  It could be trying to unzip the cdr file over the network.

Same thing here, takes almost three times as long using X4 vs 12.

I'm having the same problem here...

I'm running XP Pro.

X4 .cdr files open real fast from my hard drive.
Takes like forever from the network. (4-5 times longer at least)

Norton doesn't make a difference on or off.

It's not the University's network.
Other file types are just as fast opening as ever.
Don't have this slow issue with a file created and saved with X3.

What's Up?
This is painfully slow!

Im using X4 to access my network stored content and it doesnt feel any slower than V12

No virus scanning, makes no difference anyway -

and im not running a slow network - server 2008 4gig ram quadcore, workstation 4gig ram quadcore

any ideas?
