Hi,
I've been using CorelDRAW X3 for about 5 months, and find myself frequently typing text free-form (i.e. not in a paragraph box) and then sizing it to a square I've made. I was wondering if there was some sort of shortcut or option to make this happen automatically. I do a lot of these projects and it would save myself cosniderable time if I didn't have to manually resize each one. I'd use the paragraph box, but for whatever reason it transfers erroneously to the laser engraver I use.
Thanks in advance for any help. If my request was unclear in some way (I don't know the terms for a lot of things, so that very well may be), I have no problem answering and question to clear it up.
You can use the paragraph box and convert it to artistic text before sending to your laser. A simple right-click will do it. Or if you have lots of paragraph boxes, you can use the Text-To-Curves macro included in wOxxOm's Tools at
http://www.macromonster.com/index.php?mod=descr&id_desc=2&id=9Use the macro to convert all your text to curves. Send to the laser. Then CTRL-Z to undo the conversion or simply close the file without saving changes. It's only $10 right now so it might be worth it depending on how often you do this.I have a short-cut to the macro on my tool bar because I set up files for a screenprinter that doesn't have all the same fonts I use. A quick click, SAVE AS and the file is ready to go.
